In the city of Rosario, 16 police officers and four civilians linked to a service station are being investigated for allegedly appropriating $45 million fraudulently. The Regional Prosecutor's Office informed that an accusatory hearing will take place next week led by Prosecutor José Luis Caterina. Among the accused are three chiefs and two deputy chiefs of the Regional Unit II of the Rosario Police.
The list of accused includes sub-inspector Davina P., commissioner Fabián F., inspector Mario B., supervising commissioner Rodrigo D., supervising commissioner Gerardo R., sub-inspector Javier A., Francisco T., sub-inspector Sergio L., Ramón S., commissioner Juan P., inspector Juan V., sub-inspector Fernando C., employee Nancy P., sub-inspector Jorge D., Gustavo B., and inspector Franco C. Additionally, four civilians related to the company Gas Auto Tiferno are also implicated in the case.
The case centers on alleged misappropriation of public funds through fuel vouchers that, according to the investigation, were made at the Puma service station located at Ovidio Lagos 3900, which has been closed. It is suspected that the accused carried out fraudulent maneuvers in the fuel logistics of Regional Unit II, causing harm to the Public Administration.
Authorities indicate that those responsible for the area 'made payments exceeding the fuel expenses actually incurred in the patrol cars' and then distributed the excess among themselves. According to the investigation, the misappropriation of public funds would amount to about 45 million pesos, within a monthly estimate of 380 million allocated for fuel loading in URII.
